Riding The Struggle Bus

I have been riding this struggle bus for the past two weeks. All I want to do is sleep and forget about homework, which equals my future career since I am now a poor college student. And if I ever want to get money again I have to do my homework so I can get a well paying job to live in this world.

Yesterday was Monday, everyone's favorite day of the week, and I forgot all about having my statistics homework due...this was the second time this has happened. I had that feeling that something was due, but I forgot to write it down so when I went to look it up I was just like "I guess I am just being paranoid." I should have listened to my gut feeling!!! I got some of the work done in class so I am not going to get a total zero on that assignment, and on the plus side I get two homework drops so it looks like I have found those.

This weekend wasn't very good for my whole being healthy thing. I started out the weekend by telling myself "you are going to be healthy and not eat everything in sight." Well that didn't exactly work especially since I went home and my mom had left me an Easter basket full of yummy, delicious candy that I devoured in the probably the first hour of being home. Then I proceeded to make myself a frozen pizza and eat all of it but two slices, which was 3/4 of the pizza or if you are a percentage person 75%. So I told myself that I was going to get up and run the next day since it was supposed to be nice and then I was going to do some of my assignments that are due in the next week. Well, the next day rolled around and I rolled out of bed at the early time of 12:30pm. This didn't mean I could go for a run, but it was a sign of nothing was going to get accomplished. So I made myself the nutritious breakfast of what Easter candy was left and pop-tarts. I then laid in bed until 2 watching TV until I realized I was supposed to go let my friend's dogs out of their kennels so they could some of their energy out...I was supposed to do this at noon. So I threw on some publicly acceptable clothes and ran around with the dogs so I was like "Okay I got some exercise in." To only come back and make myself a chocolate cake because I wanted to eat chocolate cake batter. I then did a pinterest workout because I felt guilty, and I didn't get around to actually icing the cake until 10:30 at night. But once that icing was on I ate almost half of the cake.

So as you can tell I did terrible on my whole healthy lifestyle thing this weekend, but I am determined to get back on track. As the quote goes "Today is another chance, make yourself proud"

Thanks for your time

Back on Track

I know this probably won't be seen by many people seeing as it has been a few months since I have posted. The cause of this is nothing other than the wonderful college life I live of constantly doing homework and studying. I have been really caught up in my studies, but now it is time to catch you up with what is happening.

On my last post I talked about how being more social has caused me to not eat as healthy and I would start to not exercise as much. Well I recently have gotten back into the habit of working out at least five times a week. I am still struggling with eating the best foods since I had gotten used to eating the foods that weren't the best for me. I am eating a lot more healthier and I still allow myself occasionally to splurge. With all of this change, I have been able to see some results, but I am not to my goal quite yet. Even though I have been working out more, I have been slacking on the running aspect. I have missed it a lot, and I am trying to get back into it by running outside on occasions along with a couple times on the treadmill. I used to always run on the treadmills, but I now go to the rec center and their treadmills are different and I also don't like to run in front of a lot people. The treadmills in my dorm is much more secluded. I do a lot more work outs on the machines now.

Off the topic of being healthy, my schooling this semester is a lot harder because I am in classes to help prepare me for clinic next year. I also have classes helping me diagnose certain language disorders and how to administer certain tests. In this class, I have to actually administer two tests to my professor and his GA. When I have to do this my professor acts like a little child which can be very interesting.

Something monumental that I did in the past two weeks was that I got my very first tattoo. This is monumental tome because the tattoo is for my two best friends that are more like sisters. This represents that our friendship will last forever and even if something does end up happening where we would not be as close as we are now I will never regret our friendship. Therefore, I will not regret my tattoo for them.

Long Time, No Post

OH MY GOODNESS!!! I haven't posted in forever. I don't know how many of you are still reading this or will even read this since it has been about 3 months since I last said anything. But I would like to fill you in on what is happening.

I have moved back into school and taken my midterms, so far everything is going well. I have been more social this year. I actually get out of my dorm room haha. I joined several clubs and I am enjoying every single one.

I know the last time I posted I was talking about my struggle to exercise and be healthy. I am dong okay, but not as well as I had did last year. This goes along with being more social; since I get out of my room more often I am not eating the most healthy foods on campus. It can be hard to find healthy food when you don't eat in the same dining hall every day like last year, and you feel more pressure to eat things that aren't the best for you. Although, I am working out more than I did over the summer, which is a plus. I am maintaining my weight and I think I may have lost a pound or two. I wish it was more, but I know I have to make a change in my eating habits if I want to see those changes/results.

Thank you for reading.

I Need To Get Back On Track

So this past year at school I was terrified of gaining the Freshman fifteen, so I tried really hard to stay away from fattening foods and working out almost everyday. In the end I lost fifteen pounds and I was feeling great about myself. I came home and was determined to keep the weight off and even lose a few more pounds. The thing is I work in an ice cream shop and ended up gaining five of those pounds back. I have about two weeks till I go back to school and I want to lose at least one pound. I need to get back on track with all my running and eating healthy. I want to have that perfect stomach so bad and I was so close at the end of the year. Well now I need to lose these excess pounds...I only wanted to lose five more pounds at the end of the year but now at the end of this summer I need to lose ten pounds.

I need to find more ways to keep myself motivated. One way is by putting a dollar in a jar for every mile I run, or if I work out really hard then I will add a dollar. I am thinking about making things to put on my dorm walls, such as girls with really flat stomach (but that might be taken as really creepy). I need more ideas!!!!

Well I am off to think of more ideas and I would like to thank you for reading my blog :)

Came and Conquered

So I ran the whole 5K!!!! It wasn't a terrible time either; I probably could have ran it a little bit faster. I had a blast while doing it too. My friends and I decided to dress up as superheroes...I was Captain America. We also ran with music from the movies :). The only problem I am having now is staying motivated and finding reasons while I should work out. Luckily I have one of my best friends who helps motivate me. In fact, we just got done working out and I feel FANTASTIC!

I have to go back to school soon and I haven't been able to do as many adventures as I had hoped, but I did get to go to Chicago for Fourth of July and I am planning on going back in the next couple of weeks. I did go to the showing of The Dark Knight Rises that showed all three of the Batman movies. I was soooooo pumped, but it was devastating what happened in Colorado. I send my prayers out to the victims and their families. After the movies I went and bought myself some awesome new superhero posters for my dorm, which will be amazingly decorated with those posters and my awesome Beatles posters I got from my wonderful roommate and her dad....they know me so well.

I am excited to go back to school, I am not so pumped about going back to classes and doing homework. I am going to make sure I get good grades and have fun.

5K Just Around The Corner

So I have been super busy yet again which is not out of the ordinary for me, so when I actually have free time I would like to spend it with my friends or relax because you know it is summer. I have two week till I have to run a 5k, and in Indiana we have been having a heat wave (much like the rest of the US) so I haven't been running because the options are either get up super early (which I am not too fond of losing sleep) or waiting till it cools down at night. I would do the second option if it wasn't still 90 or more degrees outside and I get off work at 10 o' clock at night. But the temperature has finally dropped and I am getting back into the groove of things. I tried to run my usual two miles and lets just say I can tell I haven't been running in a little over a week, and I haven't exactly been feeding my body correctly.

Oh yeah the whole eating healthy thing has kind of fallen into the back seat seeing as I went to Chicago and this week is fair week in my town and that means FUNNEL CAKES AND ELEPHANT EARS!!!! I try to stay healthy until I head over to the fair grounds and grab myself a bite to eat.

Well wish me luck with my training for the 5k and getting back on the wagon for eating healthy, so I can make myself have a better lifestyle.

Busy, Busy, Busy

I feel like I'm constantly running around doing things. I have two jobs...I work at an ice cream shop and then I babysit on Mondays and Wednesdays. I sometimes work at the ice cream store as soon as I get off from my babysitting job. This kind of makes it difficult to workout everyday, but somehow I can usually find time for it. It is really hot this time of the year and right now it is reaching record heat, so running usually needs to happen really early or late at night because it is just so hot during the day. This past weekend I was put in charge of the ice cream store and I had to babysit two families' dogs...you can say I was super duper busy. I haven't had time to go out and do new adventures, but I am hoping that I can soon.

I am really craving to go to an amusement park...I just love the thrill of riding roller coasters. This is really weird since I have a fear of heights. Even though I am usually terrified anytime I do something involving heights I force myself to do it because I know I will regret it if I don't end up doing it.

Thanks for reading my blog about living a normal life with a few adventures thrown in the mix...hopefully those will happen soon.
